4/10/2013 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona softball defeated Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe La Roche College 12-7 in game one of Wednesday's doubleheader at Stewart Athletic Field, then won 7-3 in a rain-shortened game two.
Game two was suspended due to severe weather and darkness in the sixth inning with the Lady Lions ahead 7-3. It was later ruled a complete game by the AMCC.
In game one, Raychel DeArmitt's (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) two-run double in the bottom of the second inning put the Lady Lions on the scoreboard. She scored on a groundout later in the inning to make it 3-0.
La Roche tied the game in the top of the third, but Penn State Altoona countered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Clarissa Keller (Spring Mills, PA/Penns Valley) singled up the middle to bring home one run, and Amanda Brennan (Jefferson Hills, PA/Thomas Jefferson) made it 5-3 with her RBI double to left-center.
The Lady Redhawks tied the game again, putting two runs on the board in the fourth.

In game two, pitcher Jackie Smith (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) went 5 1/3 innings and surrendered two earned runs, picking up the victory.
