Men's Cross Country Places Second, Women Come in Sixth at Westminster Invitational
9/1/2013 — NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's and women's cross country teams opened their seasons on Saturday morning in the Westminster College Fisher Invitational.
The men's squad started the season off on a very strong note, coming in second place out of seven teams in the 8K. The women placed sixth out of nine total teams in the 6K.
The men's team placed three runners among the top eight.
Jason Anna (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) led the way, coming in third place out of 57 runners with a time of 29:11.1.
Nathan Repetz (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) followed him, placing fourth with a time of 29:18.6.
Jacob Dean (Shade Gap, PA/Southern Huntingdon) came in eighth, clocking in at 30:13.4.
For the women, Kristen Cummings (Pittsburgh, PA/Brentwood) was the squad's top runner, coming in 22nd place out of 77 runners with a time of 29:12.0.
Charlotte Searle (Boiling Springs, PA/Boiling Springs) was 24th, crossing the finish line at 29:14.5.
Khristina Slobodnik (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) posted a time of 29:30.4 to clinch 28th place.
The Penn State Altoona men's and women's cross country squads are back in action on Saturday, September 14 in the Penn State Behrend Invitational.
