Men's Soccer Falls 3-1 at Susquehanna
9/7/2013 — SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's soccer was suffered its third straight defeat to open the 2013 season when it lost 3-1 to non-conference opponent Susquehanna University on Saturday afternoon.
Susquehanna held a 2-0 advantage on the scoreboard at halftime, getting goals from Andrew Murphy at 25:36 and Nick Fecci at 43:13.
At 58:39, the home team made it 3-0 on Kyle Semmel's score.
Penn State Altoona got on the board at 78:36 when Cody Beach (South Williamsport, PA/South Williamsport) took Dan Kennedy's (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) cross and fired it into the net to make it 3-1. The goal was the first of the season for the Lions.
But Susquehanna did not allow any more offense from the Lions.
Brandon Zhang (Lansing, MI/Singapore American School) started in goal for Penn State Altoona and made three saves in 29:44 in net. Aaron Ballish (Apollo, PA/Kiski) played the remaining 60:16, making four saves.
Susquehanna held a 10-4 advantage over Penn State Altoona in shots on goal, as well as a 21-10 advantage in total shots attempted.
