Women's Volleyball Drops 3-2 Decision at Dickinson

9/10/2013 — CARLISLE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's volleyball was defeated in a close match at Dickinson College on Tuesday night, as the Red Devils pulled out a 3-2 win at the Kline Center.

Dickinson won the first set 25-20 before Penn State Altoona bounced back and won the next two by scores of 25-19 and 28-26. But the Red Devils won the fourth set 25-12, then took the decisive fifth set 15-8.

Mariah McDowell (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch) led Penn State Altoona with 14 kills and added 10 digs.

Amanda Hammer (Greencastle, PA/Greencastle-Antrim) had six kills and three block assists.

Leah Brutz (Windber, PA/Windber), who stepped into the role of setter following an injury, tallied 31 set assists for Penn State Altoona.
