Lady Lions Tennis Sweeps D'Youville 9-0


9/14/2013 — WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - Penn State Altoona women's tennis picked up its second Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory of the season on Saturday, defeating D'Youville College 9-0 at the Miller Tennis Center.

The Lady Lions swept doubles and singles in dominating fashion.

In doubles, the tandems of Cassie Yatcilla (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East)/Michelle Colucci (Middletown, NJ/St. John Vianney), Christina Thompson (Baltimore, MD/Mercy)/Rachael Barbush (Mechanicsburg, PA/Trinity), and Katelyn Piper (Roaring Spring, PA/Martinsburg Central)/Taryn Kramer (Ligonier, PA/Bishop McCort) won their matches 8-1, 8-0, and 8-1, respectively.

In #1 singles, Colucci triumphed 6-0, 6-1. Thompson won the #2 flight 6-1, 6-2. Yatcilla blanked her opponent in #3 singles 6-0, 6-0. Olivia Brown (Camp Hill, PA/Cedar Cliff) posted a 6-1, 6-1 win in #4. Kramer and Barbush each won 6-0, 6-0 in the #5 and #6 slots.

Penn State Altoona remains in Buffalo to face another AMCC opponent, Medaille College, on Sunday, September 15 at 11:00 AM.
