Strubhar Named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week

9/16/2013 — PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's soccer's sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Strubhar (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Strubhar had a strong week in goal to keep her team in a pair of tightly-contested non-conference games.

In a 3-2 loss at Westminster College on Wednesday, Strubhar played 45 shutout minutes and made four saves. In a 2-1 defeat at Washington & Jefferson College on Sunday, she played all 90 minutes and made 10 saves.

In the AMCC, Strubhar is currently ranked ninth in goals against average (2.80), eighth in save percentage (.696), seventh in saves (16), and seventh in saves per game (4.00).
