Lady Lions Tennis Bested 6-3 by Clarion




9/16/2013 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's tennis was defeated 6-3 by Division II Clarion University on Monday afternoon at the Adler Tennis Courts.

The Lady Lions began the dual match on a good note, winning two out of three doubles matches.

In #1 doubles, the duo of Michelle Colucci (Middletown, NJ/St. John Vianney)/Cassie Yatcilla (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) pulled out a 9-8 (10-3) victory. In #3 doubles, the team of Taryn Kramer (Ligonier, PA/Bishop McCort)/Katelyn Piper (Roaring Spring, PA/Martinsburg Central) was victorious 8-4.

But things changed when Clarion won five out of six singles matches. The Lady Lions' lone win came in #6 singles, where Rachael Barbush (Mechanicsburg, PA/Trinity) played to a 6-2, 6-0 win.
