Cross Country Teams Post Strong Showings at SVC Invitational
9/21/2013 — LATROBE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's cross country placed third out of seven teams, and the women's squad came in sixth out of 10 teams in Saturday's Saint Vincent College Invitational.
The Lions' top runner was Jason Anna (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock), who finished 12th out of 83 men's runners with a time of 28:35.1 in the 8K race.
Nathan Repetz (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) was 21st, clocking in at 29:20.3.
Marcus Spisso (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg-Salem) and Jacob Dean (Shade Gap, PA/Southern Huntingdon) followed close behind, clinching 25th and 27th places, respectively, with times of 29:42.3 and 29:51.6.
Khristina Slobodnik (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) was the high finisher for the Lady Lions. She placed 33rd out of 100 women's runners in the 5K, crossing the finish line at 22:18.4
Kristen Cummings (Pittsburgh, PA/Brentwood) came in 40th with a time of 22:29.9.
Charlotte Searle (Boiling Springs, PA/Boiling Springs) was 46th, sealing a time of 22:36.3
The men's and women's cross country teams continue their season on Saturday, September 28 at the Dickinson College Long/Short Invitational at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa.
