Lions Golf Finishes Fourth at Behrend Invitational


9/23/2013 — NORTH EAST, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's golf returned to action on Monday, placing fourth out of eight teams in the Penn State Behrend Invitational at Lake View Country Club.

The Lions shot 331 as a team on the par 72 course. Of the six Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference teams involved in the event, Penn State Altoona was second-best.

Penn State Behrend won the event, shooting 309. Grove City College, of the Presidents Athletic Conference, was the runner-up with a score of 315.

Penn State Altoona had three individual golfers finish among the top 20.

Mackenzie Flasher (Greensburg, PA/Greater Latrobe) posted the lowest score for the Lions, shooting an 80 to tie for 11th individually.

Derek Duttry (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) was close behind, finishing with an 82 to tie for 13th place.

Brad Swindell (Everett, PA/Everett) shot an 83 to claim 18th place.

Penn State Altoona men's golf competes in the La Roche College Invitational tomorrow, Tuesday, September 24 at Wildwood Golf Club in Allison Park, Pa.
