Lions Golf Ties for Sixth at La Roche Invitational


9/24/2013 — ALLISON PARK, Pa. - In their second event in as many days, the Penn State Altoona men's golf team tied for sixth place at the La Roche College Fall Invitational at Wildwood Golf Club.

The Lions finished with a team score of 345 on the par 71 course, the same total as Pitt-Greensburg. Grove City College claimed first, shooting a collective 328. Westminster College came in second with a score of 334.

Evan Perry (Canton, PA/Canton) posted the top individual performance for Penn State Altoona, shooting an 83 to tie for eighth place out of 42 golfers.

Derek Duttry (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) and Mackenzie Flasher (Greensburg, PA/Greater Latrobe) each finished with an 86, tying for 14th place.

Brock Dillon (Roaring Spring, PA/Martinsburg Central) and Matt Dillon (Roaring Spring, PA/Martinsburg Central) each shot a 93 to round out the squad.

Next, Penn State Altoona travels to New Castle Country Club to golf in the Westminster College Fall Invitational on Monday, October 7. That event is the team's last before the two-day, season-ending Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship on October 13 and 14.
