Lady Lions Defeat Mount Aloysius 3-0 to Remain Perfect at Home



10/8/2013 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's volleyball swept crosstown Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Mount Aloysius College in straight sets on Tuesday night in the Adler Gym, prevailing 3-0 for their second win in the conference this season.

With the victory, the Lady Lions improved to 5-0 at home this season. The team has now won nine of its past 10 matches

Kristi Batzel (Osterburg, PA/Chestnut Ridge) had 21 set assists to lead all players. She also contributed six digs.

Emily Frye (Etters, PA/Red Land) tied for the match-high with 10 digs.

Mariah McDowell (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch) led all players with eight kills. Becky Britton (Northern Cambria, PA/Northern Cambria) added seven kills, and Tori Callihan (Ashburn, VA/Bishop O'Connell) had six.

Amanda Hammer (Greencastle, PA/Greencastle-Antrim) recorded a match-high three solo blocks.

Batzel, Britton, and McDowell posted three service aces each.
