One Goal Sinks Lady Lions in Loss to Pitt-Greensburg

BOX SCORE

10/9/2013 — GREENSBURG, Pa. - One goal was all Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer needed to defeat Penn State Altoona on Tuesday afternoon.

The 1-0 loss drops the Lady Lions to 1-2-1 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

The Lady Bobcats' lone score came just before halftime, when Tiffani Downey's goal at 42:54 put the home team on the board.

Mackenzie Strubhar (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) made two saves in goal for Penn State Altoona.

But despite plenty of shots, the Lady Lions could not crack Strubhar's opposite, as Pitt-Greensburg goalkeeper Amanda Hydock made 11 saves.

Penn State Altoona held a 16-9 advantage in total shots, which included an 11-3 mark in shots on goal.
