10/12/2013 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's tennis earned a trip to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Semifinals on Saturday, as the fourth-seeded Lady Lions defeated number five seed Pitt-Greensburg 5-2 at ProCare Fitness in the first round of the conference's postseason tournament.

The Lady Lions will face top-seeded Penn State Behrend on Saturday, October 19 in the AMCC Semifinals at Alpha Tennis and Fitness Club in Pittsburgh. Start time for the match is slated to be 3:30 PM.

Penn State Altoona opened the match on Saturday with a big advantage, sweeping all three doubles matches over Pitt-Greensburg.

The tandems of Michelle Colucci (Middletown, NJ/St. John Vianney)/Cassie Yatcilla (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East), Rachael Barbush (Mechanicsburg, PA/Trinity)/Christina Thompson (Baltimore, MD/Mercy), and Taryn Kramer (Ligonier, PA/Bishop McCort)/Katelyn Piper (Roaring Spring, PA/Martinsburg Central) were each victorious to propel the Lady Lions to a 3-0 lead.
