Lions Soccer Shuts Out Bradford 5-0


10/12/2013 — BRADFORD, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's soccer team won its fourth game in a row on Saturday afternoon, defeating Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Bradford 5-0.

Dan Kennedy (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) opened the scoring at 11:59, heading a cross from Shane Conway (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) into the goal.

Alhaji Umaru Koroma scored at 30:32 to give Penn State Altoona a 2-0 lead.

The Lions kept clicking in the second half. Matthew MacCrory (West Chester, PA/West Chester East) recorded his first collegiate goal at 67:32, shooting one in off of the post to make it 3-0.

Chris Beech (White Oak, PA/McKeesport) scored twice in the final 10:01 to add two more goals to his team's total.

Aaron Ballish (Apollo, PA/Kiski) made four saves in goal for his third shutout of the season.

Penn State Altoona held big advantages over the Panthers in shots (30-5), shots on goal (17-4), and corner kicks (11-1).
