Pitt-Bradford Tops Women's Soccer 4-1

10/12/2013 — BRADFORD, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's soccer lost 4-1 to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Bradford on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Panthers jumped out to a big lead midway through the first half, scoring three goals in the span of 6:57. Melissa Smith scored the first two for the home team, and Maggie Boehler made it 3-0 by the 25:24 mark.

At 51:17, Smith notched the hat trick when she scored to make it 4-0.

Penn State Altoona got on the scoreboard at 55:38 when Theresa Deppenschmidt (New Hope, PA/New Hope-Solebury) ripped a shot into the goal from 40 yards out.

But Pitt-Bradford did not budge any more, winning by three goals.

Mackenzie Strubhar (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) made 10 saves in net for the Lady Lions.
