Lions Finish Fifth at AMCC Men's Golf Championships
10/14/2013 — WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's golf clinched fifth place at the conclusion of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Championships on Monday at Oak Tree Golf Club.
The Lions posted a five stroke improvement from Sunday's team score, shooting 326 collectively. The squad finished with a score of 657 in the two-day event.
Penn State Behrend won the AMCC title with a score of 602, and Pitt-Bradford placed second with 627.
Evan Perry (Canton, PA/Canton) shot a 77 (6-over par) on Monday to lead the Lions. Brock Dillon (Roaring Spring, PA/Martinsburg Central) finished with a 78. Each of those scores mark personal-bests for Perry and Dillon this season.
Brandon Osgood (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro) posted an 18-stroke improvement from his Sunday score, shooting an 81 on Monday for Penn State Altoona. His score of 81 is also a personal season-best.
Derek Duttry (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) and Mackenzie Flasher (Greensburg, PA/Greater Latrobe) each shot a 90 on Monday for the Lions.
Perry and Dillon's two-day scores of 159 tied for ninth-best out of 43 golfers in the AMCC Championships.
Behrend's Dante Vetica shot a combined score of 144 in the two rounds to win the individual title.
