Men's Cross Country Places Fourth at CCO Championships
10/19/2013 — GENEVA, N.Y. - The Penn State Altoona men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Cross Country Only Conference Championship on Saturday at Seneca Lake State Park. The men's squad placed fourth out of 14 teams, while the women's squad did not place.
Jason Anna (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) posted another strong performance in the 8K, finishing seventh out of 141 runners to lead the Lions. He recorded a time of 27:40.1.
Finishing right behind Anna was Nathan Repetz (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff), who cross the finish line at 27:42.7.
Jacob Dean (Shade Gap, PA/Southern Huntingdon) placed 21st with a time of 28:46.6.
The women's squad did not field enough runners to merit a place among the other teams, but the Lady Lions still competed in the event.
Khristina Slobodnik (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) was the top runner for the women's team, coming in 24th place out of 137 runners in the 5K with a time of 21:23.3.
Makayla Pearce (Lewistown, PA/Indian Valley/Mifflin County) clocked in at 21:35.9 for 29th place.
Kristen Cummings (Pittsburgh, PA/Brentwood) came in 42nd with a time of 21:48.7.
Next up for the cross country teams is the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship on Saturday, November 2 at Delaware Park in Buffalo, N.Y.
