Women's Soccer Falls 2-0 to Franciscan


10/23/2013 — STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - Despite posting plenty of shots, the Penn State Altoona women's soccer team was shut out 2-0 by Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Franciscan University on Wednesday night.

The Lady Lions held a 26-12 advantage over Franciscan, including a 14-8 advantage in shots on goal. But it was the Lady Barons who capitalized for two goals.

Jordan Byrley put Franciscan up 1-0 at 18:46, then the Lady Barons made it 2-0 at 29:57 on Hannah Cooke's goal.

Mackenzie Strubhar (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) made six saves for the Lady Lions.
