Lions Downed 6-1 by Behrend
10/26/2013 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's soccer lost 6-1 at the hands of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon at Spring Run Stadium.
Behrend put five goals on the scoreboard in the first half, a period in which they outshot the Lions 12-2.
Eric Vunovic got the visitors on the board at 5:16, scoring from 20 yards out on the right side.
Just under eight minutes later, Eric Hackworth made it 2-0 when he headed the ball into the net following a corner kick.
Penn State Altoona cut Behrend's lead to 2-1 at 13:59, when Karl Stephan (Milford, NJ/Delaware Valley) scored on a shot from 18 yards out on the left side.
But Behrend put three more goals on the board in the period, and Hackworth added a second half goal to make it 6-1.
In addition to scoring his team's only goal of the game, Stephan posted three of the Lions' four shots on goal.
Notes: Goalkeeper Aaron Ballish (Apollo, PA/Kiski) and midfielders Dan Kennedy (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) and Garrett Storm (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) were recognized by Penn State Altoona in a pregame Senior Day ceremony.
