Women's Soccer Defeated 4-0 by Behrend

10/26/2013 — ALTOONA, Pa. - A second half surge by Penn State Behrend propelled them to defeat Penn State Altoona women's soccer 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Spring Run Stadium.

Penn State Altoona and goalkeeper Mackenzie Strubhar (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) thwarted several scoring chances for Behrend throughout the first half, playing to a 0-0 tie by halftime.

Strubhar's diving save of Sam Vasy's penalty kick at 17:28 kept the visitors off the board. That stop was part of a six save effort for Strubhar during the first half.

But it was a second penalty kick that put Behrend on the scoreboard. Alex Bilka converted her team's second PK attempt of the afternoon at 61:48, putting the visitors on top 1-0.

Less than a minute later, Sam Pace took a high cross from the right side and scored to make it 2-0.

Courtney Edwards and Lauren Truxal added goals at 72:07 and 74:34 for Behrend.

Strubhar made nine saves in total for Penn State Altoona.
