Women's Soccer Loses 6-1 to Juniata in Season Finale
10/29/2013 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's soccer lost 6-1 to non-conference opponent Juniata College on Tuesday evening at Spring Run Stadium. It was the Lady Lions' final game of their 2013 season.
Juniata's Alicia Snyder broke a scoreless tie at 29:55 when she raced down the left side and scored, then added another goal on a shot from 18 yards out at 30:49 to put her team up 2-0.
The Eagles' Jenna Rodrigue added another tally for her team just before halftime, when her score made it 3-0 at 43:34.
Juniata's Sarah Rhodes scored two goals in a 58-second span midway through the second half to give the visitors a 5-0 advantage.
Penn State Altoona got on the board at 74:23 when Allysia Ketchem (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) recorded her team-leading ninth goal on a header following a pass from Ashley Lucas (Windber, PA/Forest Hills).
But the Eagles answered just 17 seconds later when Paula Pryor found the back of the net in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper.
Katy Cook (Hollsopple, PA/Bishop McCort) started in goal and played the first half for Penn State Altoona, making two saves. Mackenzie Strubhar (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) made three saves while playing the second half.
The Lady Lions wrap up their season with an 5-11-1 overall record, which includes a 3-5-1 mark in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.
