Men's Cross Country Finishes Second at AMCC Championship
11/2/2013 — BUFFALO, N.Y. - Penn State Altoona men's cross country finished as the second place team in Saturday's Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship 8K race at Delaware State Park.
The team's score of 44 points is the best in Penn State Altoona men's cross country program history, and their second place finish is their best-ever in the AMCC Championship event.
The Lions finished with six runners among the top 20.
Jason Anna (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) finished as the runner-up individually, setting a new school record in the 8K with a time of 26:28 to place second out of 92 runners.
Following Anna was Nathan Repetz (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff), who finished with a time of 26:36 to come in third place.
Jacob Dean (Shade Gap, PA/Southern Huntingdon) secured eighth place, finishing in 27:15.
Tyler Hatton (Raleigh, NC/North Raleigh Christian Academy) was 14th, crossing the finish line at 27:49.
Shawn Lichvar (Indiana, PA/United) and Marcus Spisso (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg-Salem) placed 20th and 21st, respectively. Lichvar finished in 28:39, while Spisso had a time of 28:41.
The Lions' average time of 27:14 by its top five runners is the best one-to-five average in program history.
The team's final event of the 2013 season is the Eastern College Athletic Conference Regional Championship on Saturday, November 9 at Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island.
