Men's Swimming Ties 102-102 WIth Pitt-Bradford, Women's Swimming Edged 93-84
11/2/2013 — BRADFORD, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming teams faced Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe Pitt-Bradford on Saturday afternoon for a dual match. The men tied with Bradford 102-102, while the women lost 93-84.
For the Lions, a trio of swimmers recorded a total of four first places for their team.
Keenan Halpin (Bensalem, PA/George School) won the 50 Yard Freestyle in 23.15.
Benjamin Porter (West Chester, PA/Unionville) finished first in the 400 Yard IM with a time of 4:44.77. Later in the meet, Porter secured another first place finish when he won the 200 Yard Backstroke in 2:14.02.
Alex Fisher (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) finished atop the standings in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, clocking in at 2:20.85.
The women's squad also had three players win four events.
Ashley Nero (Oak Hill, VA/Oakton) notched two first places. She won the 50 Yard Freestyle, recording a time of 26.92, and later was victorious in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, finishing in 2:44.97.
In the 400 Yard IM, Sydney Mrozinski (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks South) claimed first place by getting a time of 5:31.33.
Kelsy Lelko (State College, PA/State College) championed the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 6:06.63.
