Men's Swimming Beats Gallaudet 144-60
11/9/2013 — WASHINGTON, D.C. - Penn State Altoona men's swimming topped non-conference foe Gallaudet University 144-60 on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions recorded a plethora of first place finishes throughout the meet, winning all 11 events.
In the 200 Yard Medley Relay, the squad of Benjamin Porter (West Chester, PA/Unionville), Alex Fisher (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield), Keenan Halpin (Bensalem, PA/George School), and Kyle Huber (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove) placed first with a time of 1:43.27.
Brendan Farren (Monroeville, PA/Gateway) took the top place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle, clinching a time of 11:04.07. Later in the meet, he was the top finisher in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:23.88.
Zachary Jones (Holland, PA/Council Rock South) won the 200 Yard Freestyle, clocking in at 1:54.43, and later took first in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 57.35.
Huber came up with another first place finish when he championed the 50 Yard Freestyle, finishing in 23.05.
Fisher picked up another first in the 200 Yard IM, touching the pad at 2:05.95, then went on to win the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:02.56.
In the 100 Yard Freestyle, Jay Wareham (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County) claimed first place with a time of 51.60.
Porter picked up another first place for himself in the 100 Yard Backstroke, finishing with a time of 1:00.50.
The squad of Halpin, Jones, Farren, and Wareham wrapped up the afternoon by winning the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, clocking in at 3:29.52.
