Three Lady Lions Named Third Team All-AMCC

11/12/2013 — PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released its 2013 Women's Soccer All-Conference Team on Tuesday afternoon, and it included three Penn State Altoona players on its Third Team: senior forward Allysia Ketchem (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg), freshman midfielder Megan Soo (Loganton, PA/Central Mountain), and senior defender Jessie Kulp (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra).

Ketchem was the Lady Lions' top offensive player in her senior campaign, leading the team in goals (9), assists (5), points (23), and shots on goal (23) in 16 games played. Her average of 1.44 points per game was fifth-highest in the AMCC, and her nine goals were the eighth-most in the league. This is the third time in Ketchem's four years with the team that she has earned an All-Conference nod.

Soo enjoyed a strong freshman year with Penn State Altoona, playing in 16 games and making 15 starts. She scored one goal -- a game-winner at Hilbert College -- and tied for second on the team in assists with four. Soo was also recognized for her strong defensive work when she was awarded the AMCC's Defensive Player of the Week honor for the week of October 21.

Kulp makes her first appearance on an AMCC All-Conference squad after a solid senior season that capped a strong four-year career with Penn State Altoona. She started all 17 games for the Lady Lions, quarterbacking her team's back line with her physical and unselfish style of defense and providing leadership for the squad.

The Lady Lions finished the 2013 season with a 3-5-1 record in the AMCC and a 5-11-1 mark overall.
