11/12/2013 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Members of the Penn State Altoona women's bowling team lent a helping hand to some local bowlers at Holiday Bowl in Altoona on November 3 for the team's Penn State Day volunteer activity.

Penn State Day is a community event where members of the Lady Lions bowling team go to a local bowling center and help coach youth bowlers from the area, while assisting parents and coaches and interacting with the Bantam, Bumper, and Prep Bowlers.

The children, parents, and Holiday Bowl staff alike were excited to have the Penn State Altoona women's bowling team donate its time to them.

Players handed out Penn State buttons to the youth bowlers to commemorate the day. Photos were also taken and distributed to the children who volunteered to have their pictures taken.

The Lady Lions have been invited back for another Penn State Day by the parents and Holiday Bowl staff, and they look forward to another opportunity to interact with members of the local bowling community.
