Four Lady Lions Secure All-Conference Spots
2013 WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
11/14/2013 — PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Four members of the Penn State Altoona women's cross country team earned All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference status when the league released its All-Conference Team on Wednesday.
The All-Conference Team is comprised of the top 15 finishers in the women's AMCC Championship 6K, which was November 2.
Getting the All-AMCC nod were freshman Khristina Slobodnik (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle), sophomore Charlotte Searle (Boiling Springs, PA/Boiling Springs), freshman Makayla Pearce (Lewistown, PA/Indian Valley/Mifflin County), and senior Kristen Cummings (Pittsburgh, PA/Brentwood).
Slobodnik placed seventh out of 84 runners in the AMCC Championship with a time of 24:53. She became the seventh-highest finisher for Penn State Altoona women's cross country in the conference's championship race since the 2005 season. She ran in all eight events for the Lady Lions in 2013, recording her best 5K time in the September 21 Saint Vincent College Invitational (22:18.4) and her best 6K time in the AMCC Championship.
Searle came in 12th in the AMCC Championship with a time of 25:36, her best 6K time of the year. Her fastest 5K time occurred in the Penn State Behrend Invitational on September 14, when she finished in 21:23.8. Searle ran in all eight races for her team this season.
Pearce placed 13th by clocking in at 25:36, her best finish in a 6K this season, in the AMCC Championship. She ran in all eight races for the Lady Lions this year, and she posted her best 5K time (21:35.9) in the October 19 Cross Country Only Championship.
Cummings capped off her four-year career with the Lady Lions by running in all eight races for her team, leading her squad with the fastest time in five of those events. In the AMCC Championship, Cummings placed 14th with a time of 25:46 -- her highest AMCC finish in her collegiate career and her fastest 6K time of the season. Her fastest 5K time in 2013 came in the Behrend Invitational, which she completed in 21:20.5.
