Swim Teams Lose to AMCC Rival Penn State Behrend



12/14/2013 — ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming teams were defeated by Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon in the Adler Natatorium.

The men's squad suffered its first loss of the 2013-2014 season, losing 124-79. The women's team fell by a score of 104-66.

Alex Fisher (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) led the way for the Lions with two individual first place finishes. In the 200 Yard IM, he placed first with a time of 2:03.80. He later won the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:01.98.

Brendan Farren (Monroeville, PA/Gateway) championed the 500 Yard Freestyle for the Lions, coming in first with a time of 5:15.74.

For the Lady Lions, Ashley Nero (Oak Hill, VA/Oakton) picked up two individual first places. She won the 50 Yard Freestyle in 26.56, and she later placed atop the standings in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 59.25.

The meet marked the final home competition of the season for Penn State Altoona.
