Lions Downed 95-68 at Pitt-Bradford
12/14/2013 — BRADFORD, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's basketball was defeated 95-68 by Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Bradford on Saturday afternoon in the KOA Arena.
Javon Wilson (Washington, D.C./T.C. Williams) led the Lions in scoring with 20 points.
Evan Greening (Stafford, VA/Stafford) added 13 points for Penn State Altoona, while Dylan Leazier (Hagerstown, MD/St. Maria Goretti) and Michael Wigfield (Beaver Valley, PA/Glendale) scored 10 points each.
The Lions started strong, holding a 24-13 lead by the 11:00 mark of the first half after back-to-back layups from Greening.
But a 14-0 run by Pitt-Bradford erased Penn State Altoona's lead, and the Panthers went up 27-24 at 7:11 on Keith Burgess' three-pointer. Brandon McClester's layup with 27 seconds left in the first period put the home team ahead by 10 points.
Pitt-Bradford continued to expand its lead in the second half. Zach Smith's trey at 14:27 made it 57-39, and Manny Welch connected from three-point range just under four minutes later to make it 70-47.
The Panthers went on to lead by as many as 31 points, routing the Lions for the win.
