The Lady Lions nursed a single digit lead for most of the first half, but the team began to expand it shortly before halftime. Stessney's fastbreak layup at 3:44 gave Penn State Altoona its largest lead to that point, 28-18. Corrigan's layup with 31 seconds left in the period made it 30-20.

Franciscan tightened the score, going on a 13-4 run to close the gap to three points. Dani Link's three-pointer at 9:30 cut the Lady Lions' lead to 45-42.
But Penn State Altoona bounced back to regain control of the game. Stessney hit a three-pointer at 7:52 to make it an eight point game, and she hit from three-point land again at the 5:00 mark to increase her team's lead to 57-45.
The Lady Barons narrowed the deficit to three points again at 1:43, when Iliana Gonzales hit a jumper to make it 58-55.
But Mossellum followed with a three-point play, making a layup and foul shot to help her team bounce back. The Lady Lions made six free throws in the final 53 seconds to seal the win.
