Women's Bowling 21st After Day One at Kutztown
1/24/2014 — READING, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's bowling team found itself in 21st place out of 26 teams after the first of three days in the Kutztown University Invitational at Hiester Lanes on Friday.
The Lady Lions tallied one win and five losses on the day and accumulated a total pinfall of 3503 while playing quad baker format.
Penn State Altoona finished the day with a higher place than all of its Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponents, who are also competing in the KU Invitational. Pitt-Bradford finished Friday in 23rd place, while Medaille College was 24th and Mount Aloysius College was 26th.
Wisconsin-Whitewater is in first place after day one with a total pinfall of 4911.
Brea Suchonic (Butler, PA/Butler) averaged 16.7 in 40 frames of baker, and Kelsey Ryan (Delran, NJ/Holy Cross) 14.5 in 40 frames.
The KU Invitational resumes at 9:30 AM on Saturday.
