Women's Bowling Stands Pat After Day Two in Kutztown Invitational
1/25/2014 — READING, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's bowling remained in 21st place after Saturday's competition, which marked day two of the Kutztown University Invitational at Hiester Lanes.
Saturday's games consisted of the traditional team matches. The Lady Lions finished the day with an 0-6 record (0-11 for Friday and Saturday combined) and now have a total pinfall of 8170.
Fairleigh Dickinson University leads all schools in the event with a pinfall of 11,281, accumulating a 12-0 record along the way on Friday and Saturday.
Brea Suchonic (Butler, PA/Butler) led the Lady Lions in total pinfall on Saturday, tallying 992 in six games for an average of 165.3 pins per game. She also bowled the highest score of the day for her team, bowling a 196 in one game.
Abbi Noel (Altoona, PA/Altoona) finished the day with a 980 for an average of 163.3.
Kelsey Ryan (Delran, NJ/Holy Cross) posted a 939, averaging 156.5 per game, and Sydnee Cookerly (Lajes Field, Azores/Lajes E/H School) had 869 in six games, averaging 144.83.
Jasmine Thomas (Waldorf, MD/Thomas Stone) totaled 588 pins in four games for an average of 147.0, and Chelsea Ritts (Altoona, PA/Altoona) had 299 in two games for a 149.5 average.
Competition resumes at 8:30 AM on Sunday, the third and final day of the KU Invitational, with best-of-7 baker play.
