Women's Bowling Beats Mount Aloysius Twice in Season Finale
2/23/2014 — ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's bowling team put the finishing touches on its 2013-2014 season by earning two wins over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe Mount Aloysius College on Sunday afternoon at Holiday Bowl.
The Lady Lions finish the season with a 34-34 record, giving the team the most wins and best winning percentage in the five years that the program has existed as a varsity sport at Penn State Altoona.
In the team match format, Penn State Altoona topped Mount Aloysius 712-563 and 695-629 to earn their first win of the day.
Brea Suchonic (Butler, PA/Butler) led her team in total pinfall with 349, averaging 174.5 per game. She also bowled the squad's high score on the day with a 181 in game one.
Chelsea Ritts (Altoona, PA/Altoona) was second on the team in pinfall, as she bowled a 318 in two games to average 159.0. Abbi Noel (Altoona, PA/Altoona) posted a pinfall of 273 for an average of 136.5.
Sydnee Cookerly (Lajes Field, Azores/Lajes E/H School) and Jasmine Thomas (Waldorf, MD/Thomas Stone) rounded out the group with pinfalls of 248 and 219, respectively.
The Lady Lions picked up their second win of the day in the baker, sweeping the Lady Mounties in four straight games by scores of 149-135, 153-96, 151-135, 192-110.
