Men's and Women's Basketball Teams Head Basketball Clinic for Central Blair Rec
ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's and women's basketball teams led the instruction at a youth basketball clinic held by the Central Blair Recreation & Park Commission on Saturday at the Altoona Area High School Fieldhouse.
The clinic, which was open to boys and girls in grades 4-6, raised proceeds to benefit the CBRC Scholarship Fund. A total of 61 children participated in the clinic, raising $610 for the scholarship, which provides monetary assistance to children from local low/moderate income families so that they may participate in various CBRC activities, programs, and events.
Penn State Altoona men's basketball head coach Billy Clapper and women's basketball head coach Casey Shoup, along with student-athletes from each team, volunteered their time and talents to instruct the participants in basketball skills, promote academic success, and emphasize the importance of staying physically fit.
