McHenry Awarded AMCC Player of the Week Status
3/31/2014 — PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Penn State Altoona baseball's freshman first baseman/designated hitter Pat McHenry (Christiana, PA/Octorara) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week on Monday for his performance at the plate last week.
The freshman slugger continued to hit for power for the Lions in a non-conference doubleheader against Saint Vincent College last Thursday. In game one, McHenry went 3-for-4 and launched a pair of solo home runs– his first collegiate multi-homer game. In game two, he went 1-for-2 to finish the day 4-for-6 with two homers, two runs batted in, and two runs scored with an on-base percentage of .714.
This season, McHenry is currently tied for first in the AMCC in home runs (5) and RBI (20). He ranks second in doubles (7), runs scored (17), total bases (41), and slugging percentage (.732).
The Lions are 5-12 overall this season.
