Men's Tennis Cruises to 9-0 Win Against Spartans




4/12/2014 — ALTOONA, Pa. - In its final home match of the 2014 season, the Penn State Altoona men's tennis team defeated Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent D'Youville College 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Adler Tennis Courts.

The Lions took charge of the match early, opening the day by sweeping in doubles play.

The duos of Adam Hack (York, PA/York Catholic)/Patrick Albright (York, PA/York Catholic), Chris Reighard (Altoona, PA/Altoona)/Jorge Requena (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Carol Morgan School), and Alex Albright (Altoona, PA/Altoona)/Joe Settimio (Altoona, PA/Altoona) all triumphed in doubles.

Penn State Altoona proceeded to claim victory on each of the six singles matches to ice the sweep of D'Youville.

Reighard, Hack, Patrick Albright, Alex Albright, Joe Settimio, and Ben Settimio (McMurray, PA/Peters Township) posted wins in singles flights No. 1-6, respectively.

The win improves Penn State Altoona's record to 2-5 overall, including 2-2 in the AMCC. The Lions travel to play another AMCC opponent tomorrow, Sunday, April 13, when they go to Pitt-Bradford for a 1:00 PM match.
