Lions Tennis Edged 5-4 at Pitt-Bradford
4/13/2014 — BRADFORD, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's tennis suffered a tight 5-4 loss to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe Pitt-Bradford on Sunday afternoon at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
Pitt-Bradford secured a 3-0 lead by the completion of the doubles matches, winning by scores of 8-3, 8-6, and 8-4.
Penn State Altoona won four out of the six singles matches, but the Panthers' two victories clinched the match win over the Lions.
Adam Hack (York, PA/York Catholic) won 7-6, 6-2 in No. 2 singles, and Patrick Albright (York, PA/York Catholic) triumphed 6-2, 6-0 in No. 3 singles. In No. 5 singles, Joe Settimio (Altoona, PA/Altoona) played to a 7-5, 6-4 win, and Ben Settimio (McMurray, PA/Peters Township) won 6-3, 7-5 in the No. 6 slot.
With the loss, Penn State Altoona drops to 2-6 overall and 2-3 in the AMCC. The Lions have another conference match against Mount Aloysius College this Wednesday, April 16 at 4:00 PM. The Mounties will technically be the home team, despite the venue being Summit Athletic Club in Altoona.
