Men's Golf Opens Spring Season, Placing 10th in SVC Invitational

4/17/2014 — LATROBE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's golf resumed its 2013-2014 season on Thursday in the fourth annual Doug Rogers Memorial Invitational/Saint Vincent College Bearcat Invitational at Arnold Palmer's Latrobe Country Club. The Lions placed 10th out of 11 teams at the event.

Washington & Jefferson College placed first with a team score of 312. St. Vincent came in second with 313. Penn State Altoona shot 376 as a team.

Evan Perry (Canton, PA/Canton) led the Lions by shooting an 84 on the par 71 course. His score tied him for 29th individually among all golfers at the competition.

Brock Dillon (Roaring Spring, PA/Martinsburg Central) shot an 88, Matt Dillon (Roaring Spring, PA/Martinsburg Central) finished with a 99, and Doug Stracke (New Canaan, CT/Fairfield Prep) rounded out the squad with a 105.

Penn State Altoona men's golf will have one more event this spring to complete their 2013-2014 schedule.
