Three Cross Country Runners Named to AMCC All-Conference Team

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Three Penn State Altoona cross country runenrs were named to the AMCC All-Conference team on Tuesday.
Freshman James Gourley (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) and sophomore Wesley Brubaker (Port Trevorton, PA/Selinsgrove) were named to the men's All-Conference squad. Brubaker was also a 2008 selection to the team.
Freshman Alexandra Burkholder (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) earned All-Conference honors on the women's side.
Cross Country Teams Place 4th at AMCC Championships

ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's and men's cross country teams each placed fourth in the AMCC Championships at Penn State Behrend on Saturday.
Alexandra Burkholder (Downingtown, PA/Downington East) led the women's team, placing eighth overall with a time of 27:04.
The Lady Lions had five additonal runners place among the top 30. Kelley Rager (Reedsville, PA/Indian Valley) came in 20th with a time of 28:39, Kim Gueterman (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Regional) was 24th at 29:13, Kirsten Luzik (Robinson Township, PA/Montour) placed 28th with 30:02, Becky Shodt (Center, PA/Center) was 29th at 30:43 and Rachel Lerch (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) was 30th with a time of 30:56.
For the men, James Gourley (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) led the team by placing 11th overall with a time of 30:40. He was followed by Wesley Brubaker (Port Trevorton, PA/Selinsgrove), who came in 13th at 30:46.
Jordan Rowley (Boulder, CO/Peak to Peak) finished 21st, clocking in at 32:15, Philip Shriver (Kensington, MD/Walter Johnson) came in 23rd at 32:35 and Peter Holman (Maple Glen, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) placed 26th at 32:51.
The cross country team will travel to Lehigh Valley to participate in the NCAA Division III Mideast Championships on Saturday, November 14.
Women's Cross Country Places 2nd, Men Tie for 5th

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Penn State Altoona women's cross country came in second place in the Hood College Invitational at Heritage Farm Park on Saturday, while the men's team finished tied for fifth with Hood College.
The Lady Lions were well-represented in the top portion of the individual standings, as five of the team's runners placed among the top 26.
Alexandra Burkholder (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) led the women in the 6K race, placing third overall out of 110 runners with a time of 25:30.
Kelley Rager (Reedsville, PA/Indian Valley) finished ninth at 26:09, Kirsten Luzik (Robinson Township, PA/Montour) came in 12th with a time of 26:20, Rachel Lerch (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) placed 21st with a 27:05 and Kimberly Gueterman (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Regional) came in 26th with a time of 27:32.
Chelsey Meckler (Boiling Springs, PA/Cumberland Valley) finished in 30:13 at 59th place, Maggie Lavelle (Hershey, PA/Hershey) finished 63rd at 30:37, Alyssa Minnier (Dillsburg, PA/Northern) came in 81st at 32:54 and Carolyn Patrick (Johnstown, PA/Central Cambria) placed 91st at 35:22.
Wesley Brubaker (Port Trevorton, PA/Selinsgrove) led the men's team in the 8K race, coming in eighth place individually with a time of 28:30 out of 123 runners.
Jordan Rowley (Boulder, CO/Peak to Peak) placed 29th with a time of 29:58, Philip Shriver (Kensington, MD/Walter Johnson) came in 43rd at 30:47 and Christopher Bradigan (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) came in 50th with a time of 31:08.
Daryl Brown and James Gherardi (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg) placed 54th and 55th with times of 31:26 and 31:28, respectively. Peter Holman (Maple Glen, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) placed shortly thereafter at 61st with a time of 31:46.
Bradley Tibbens (Avis, PA/Jersey Shore Area) and James Gourley (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) finished back-to-back at 66 and 67 with times of 32:11 and 32:14.
Michael Garretson (Boiling Springs, PA/Boiling Springs) placed 82nd at 33:45, Andrew LePine (Newtown, PA/Council Rock) came in 89th at 35:00 and Peter Korovesis (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg) came in at 90th with a time of 35:02.
Stephen Mann (Fairfax Station, VA/Lake Braddock) rounded out the group at 97th with a time of 36:03.
Brubaker Leads Way for Men, Burkholder Places 4th for Women

ALTOONA, Pa. - Wesley Brubaker (Port Trevorton, PA/Selinsgrove) placed 12th for the men's cross country team at the Juniata College Eagle Invitational on Saturday, while Alexandra Burkholder (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) placed fourth for the second meet in a row.
The men's team finished fourth place out of six teams, while the women's team came in third place out of five teams.
Brubaker led the men's team with a time of 26:55. Peter Holman (Maple Glen, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) came in 24th out of 54 runners with 28:23.
Philip Shriver (Kensington, MD/Walter Johnson), James Gourley (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) and Jordan Rowley (Boulder, CO/Peak to Peak) finished 27th through 29th place, respectively, with times of 28:35, 28:37 and 28:45.
Christopher Bradigan (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) came in 37th with a time of 29:42, and James Gherardi (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg) was 43rd with 30:46.
For the women, Burkholder finished with a time of 20:55 to finish fourth out of 56 runners. Kim Gueterman (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Regional) finished 16th with a time of 22:13.
Rachel Lerch (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) and Kirsten Luzik (Robinson Township, PA/Montour) came in 19th and 20th with times of 22:23 and 22:24.
Becky Shodt (Center, PA/Center) finished 33rd with a time of 23:47, while Maggie Lavelle (Hershey, PA/Hershey) was 36th with 24:09.

GREENSBURG, Pa. - Alexandra Burkholder (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) finished in fourth place for the Penn State Altoona women's cross country team, while Wesley Brubaker (Port Trevorton, PA/Selinsgrove) came in 12th place for the men's team at the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcat Invitational on Saturday.
Burkholder had a time of 25:28 to lead the Lady Lions. Kirsten Luzik (Robinson Township, PA/Montour), Kimberly Gueterman (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Regional) and Rachel Lerch (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) placed 24th, 25th and 26th, respectively, with times of 28:02, 28:11 and 28:18.
Kelley Rager (Reedsville, PA/Indian Valley) finished 31st with a time of 28:38.
For the men, Brubaker crossed the finish line with a time of 29:31. Jordan Rowley (Boulder, CO/Peak to Peak) came in 26th with a time of 30:34, while Philip Shriver (Kensington, MD/Walter Johnson) placed 37th at 31:05, Peter Holman (Maple Glen, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) finished 40th at31:20 and James Gourley (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) came in 42nd at 31:29.
