University-Wide ScholarshipsBarry H. Marshal Undergraduate Scholarship (Available University Wide)Applications are now being accepted, from all campus locations, for the Barry H Marshal Scholarship. PURPOSE: The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Penn State University who have 1) demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses 2) and who advocate for or contribute to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community. Preference shall be given to students from New York State. The scholarship will be given out on an annual basis. TERM OF AWARD: Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year. The amount of the award will vary annually contingent on the annual interest from the original endowment. The Office of Student Aid will be notified of the scholarship recipient(s). SELECTION PROCEDURE: Recipients of this scholarship shall be selected by a committee comprised of members of the LGBTA Student Resource Center Advisory Board and the Commission on LGBT Equity. Recipients of the award will be recognized at the end of each academic year at the Commission on LGBT Equity Award night and the Lavender Graduation Celebration. Bruce Miller and Dean LaVigne Trustee ScholarshipPurpose:The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University, who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. The scholarship is open to students from ALL Penn State University campuses. Eligibility: Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need. The Office of Student Aid is responsible for identifying the eligible pool of students. First preference shall be given to students from the eligible pool who have demonstrated an interest in advocating for or contributing to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community at Penn State. If no students meet the first preference in a given year, funds will be awarded to any student in the Division of Student Affairs eligibility pool, regardless of preference.
