In compliance with the “Timely Notice” provision of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 the University Police are giving notice of a disturbing act of violence reported to have occurred in Cedar Hall, on the Altoona campus of Penn State University.

REPORTED OFFENSE: A Burglary was reported to have occurred in PSU Altoona's Cedar Hall between Thursday, December 19, 2013 and Sunday, January 12, 2014. Cedar Hall is located adjacent to Gwin Road on the north side of campus.

SUSPECTS: No suspects at this time.

The victim, a student resident of Cedar Hall, reported that sometime between 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 19, 2013 and 5:00 pm, Sunday, January 12, 2014, unknown person(s) entered their room in Cedar Hall. A backpack and two wristlet purses were stolen.

It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the University community. It is the duty of the institution to warn of possible “dangerous conditions” on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an “affirmative duty” exists to warn persons associated with this University of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties.

Everyone is reminded to lock your residence hall doors at all time, even when sleeping.
