In compliance with the “Timely Notice” provision of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 the University Police are giving notice of a disturbing act of violence reported to have occurred in Oak Hall, on the Altoona campus of Penn State University.

REPORTED OFFENSE: Reported Burglary, was reported to have occurred in the university’s Oak Hall, a residence hall at between 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 31, 2014 & 1:20 P.M. Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Oak Hall is located near Gwinn Road and, adjacent to the Book Store.

SUSPECTS: No suspects at this time

The victim, a Student, reported that sometime between 4:00 P.M. on August 31, 2014 and September 2, 2014 1:20 P.M. someone entered her room and stole a flash-drive, medicine her PSU ID and a key.

It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the University community. It is the duty of the institution to warn of possible “dangerous conditions” on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an “affirmative duty” exists to warn persons associated with this University of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties.

Crime Prevention tips;
Lock your residence hall doors at all times,
Secure valuables in a locked drawer or footlocker.
