Saturday, June 29, 2019 | Penn State Altoona
Day of Dance is a one-day festival of workshops, classes, and discussions led by Penn State Altoona dance faculty, members of Allied Motion Dance Company, and invited guests.
Master classes are chosen to introduce dancers to new styles or to broaden their understanding of styles they have previously learned in their home studios. Roundtables and discussions are designed to give high school students a taste of the types of coursework they might encounter in a collegiate program and to introduce them to allied professions such as dance therapy, dance education, and dance production. The evening performance and adjudication is a developmental tool, similar to the concerts seen at the American College Dance Association festivals. Here, dancers and choreographers receive feedback on their work with a wide focus on choreography and artistic expression.
Day of Dance seeks to bring dancers together in a collaborative environment, where they can learn from one another and meet their peers from different studios and communities around the central Pennsylvania region. Join us in June, and dance on!
